I don't get it!!!

Okay so what is the secret? I know there is one, what is it??? I don't understand how we can use the exact same recipe for cookies and one time they will be perfect and thick and yummy and the next time they are flat and crunchy. What the heck are we doing wrong? Yes everything is measured right, the butter is not melted...

What is the trick?

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if it's anything like making candy or popcorn balls. It doesn't work if there's any kind of moisture in the air. Wish I had the answer.
