These were a fun twist! I'm not sure where my mom found the recipe. She writes down lots of recipes from magazines and off of tv and we try them on occasion and vote the yay or nay. So, I have no idea who to give credit to, but they are fabulous!
6 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
6 T white sugar
1 1/2 T cocoa
1 T vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
6 slices of bread
Mix all ingredients well, except bread slices! (The cocoa likes to float, so you have to really whip it!) Dip the bread slices in egg mixture coating both sides and cook on a greased griddle. I have no idea how they taste with regular maple syrup, but they are fabulous with the syrup Sunny posted. (Buttermilk Syrup)
